I sadly have a day job that competes with my gameplaying duties (I have to pay the bills somehow!), so it’s not complete, but I do have enough information that.

If you complete that square's challenge with a 'B' Rank or above, all three adjacent squares (, 7-8, and ) will unlock. A 'C' Rank however, will only unlock the square to Link's left and the one above him.As you progress through Adventure Mode and, more of the map will become available to unlock.SquaresBeat this level to unlockGreenOrangePurpleBrownBlueRedAdditionally, various Item Cards will randomly pop up as rewards for completing different squares.

These Item Cards are used to discover hidden things on the Adventure Mode search screen (hit the X Button on the map screen to search the square you're standing on).Look in the upper left corner of the previous screen.

See how the 'A' Rank Victory section says 'Requires Search'? That means you search the screen (X Button) and use the appropriate Item Card in the appropriate area. If you use the right Item Card in the correct location, you'll unlock the ability to earn that reward when you tackle that screen's challenge. How do you know which square is the correct square?

Well, knowlege of the original Legend of Zelda's secrets (which rocks to bomb, which trees to burn) will give you an edge! You can also use the Compass Card.

Reuse the Same Compass Item Card in Adventure ModeNormally all item cards in the Adventure Mode maps are single use, but this trick will allow you to use the same Compass card multiple times without the need to earn / buy another. When using the Compass on a square that allows it, an area will sparkle as a hint, along with a message prompt starting you found a suspicious area. When the message prompt appears, DO NOT press A to continue (otherwise the game will autosave and you will lose that item card forever). Instead, hit the HOME button and quit the game. When you restart the game and head into Adventure Mode, you'll see that you'll still have the same amount of Compass cards in your posession.
