In fronttiming cover, the hole is approx: 1/4 PROBLEM:Rubber seal on aluminum cooling tube hasfailed. Coolant is leaking into back area of engine timing cover and out ofhole. BIGGER PROBLEM:Replacing this seal/tube is a very, very bigjob and very expensive. SOLUTIONInstall an AGA collapsible cooling tube.

CleanSeal Groove: Completely clean is a must, use a small wire brush toremove ALL debris from old seal, inspect with mirror.STEP 6REPLACING REAR O-RINGPart # 11-53-1-710-048Remove rear o-ring in back ofengine block. Clean groove and install new o-ring. Part#11-53-1-710-148 (Do not install the o-ring that comes on the pipe.It must stay in place on the pipe).

Apply a little of the suppliedgrease to o-ring in rear of block.STEP 7INSTALLING FRONT SEALPart # AGA-N62-V SEAL(Seal placed on tube for shippingpurposes)Remove seal by hand from pipe.Install engine block front seal.Flat end of the seal should be facing towards the front of the carwhen installed in engine block. Apply white grease (supplied in thekit) to new seal; fold seal and insert into hole (see drawing on theleft for directions).Work seal into grove by hand.Seal must be completely seatedbefore installing tube.
If necessary, push seal in place with ablunt tool (blue nylon tool supplied)Take extreme care not to damageseal when installing.DO NOT REMOVE THIS O-RINGPart #: AGA-N62-35STEP 8Start with the tube collapsed. Lubetube on both ends with white grease (supplied in kit).
Hold tubeinto engine block. Insert tube into rear of engine block. Turn tubeso it expands, as front of the tube enters seal, observe front sealwith mirror from water pump side as the tube goes into seal. Seal cannotbe pinched. If seal pushes out, collapse tube a bit, turn tubewithout expanding a few turns and then continue expanding until sealcan no longer be seen from water pump side.STEP 9Rotate rear ring so the machinenotch is straight up. Angled side is towards rear of engine blockand o-ring.Tighten tube by hand until it has tension on front and on the rearo-ring.Note: the back at the block is cast and will vary from car to car.
It isnormal for o-ring to contact more on top or bottom.Do not over tighten!
